In the wake of the encounter of the four accused of rape and murder of the 27-year-old Hyderabad based veterinarian, the Supreme Court had ordered a three-member judicial inquiry into the matter.

This came in response to the case filed against the Telangana Police by the issuance of a plea from the National Human Rights Commission.

The Supreme Court has given a time period of six months to the panel to look into the matter and unveil the truth. Former Supreme Court Judge V S Sirpurkar will be heading the panel.

The apex court had also said that no other authority or a court will inquire into this matter until the release of the next order by the apex court.
