Former US President Senior Bush no more

George H W Bush former President of USA died today at the age of 94 at his home at Houston. He was President from 1989 to 1993. He oversaw the fall of Berlin Wall and collapse of Soviet Union. This series of events led to a uni-polar period of global domination where USA became the only superpower in the world. During his tenure Irag invaded Kuwait which was an ally of USA. The UN passed a resolution against Iraq and ordered the Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein to move out of Kuwait. This order was not obeyed by Saddam which forced the US to form a coalition of countries to attack Iraq. Soon US, France, UK and several other countries started mobilising their troops on the Saudi-Iraq border. Then on January 17, 1991 US and its allies launched the offensive code-named Operation Desert Storm. Within six weeks the coalition liberated Kuwait and restored its monarchy. US puts economic sanctions on Iraq and UN forces Iraq to disarmament. This action emboldened US position as the global superpower.
Bush had earlier served two tenures as Vice President under President Ronald Reagan.
His term was successful overseas but was also marked with economic slowdown which resulted him in losing the second tenure as President.
Later his son George W Bush served as the President of USA from 2001 to 2009.
