MHC orders state govt to submit reports on coping the water crisis

The Madras High Court on Thursday asked the Tamil Nadu government to submit reports related to the steps being taken in order to meet the daily water requirements of the people in the city.

Additional Government Pleader E. Manoharan is ordered to submit the reports by June 17 by the Division Bench of justices S. Manikumar and Subromonium

The court also inquired about the status of the desalination plants that the state government had constructed along the East Coast Road and other places in the state.

This comes against the backdrop of a severe drought in the state leading to an acute water crisis causing distress to locals.

This has come in response to the severe drought conditions that have been prevailing in the state which is leading to an acute water crisis for the locals and causing them huge distress.
