The man who slapped Delhi’s CM Arvind Kejriwal was identified as Suresh and later expressed regret over his action.
“I don’t know why I slapped him (Arvind Kejriwal). I regret it,” Suresh said.
He further denied any claims of being associated with a specific political party.
“I am not affiliated to any political party. Nobody asked me to do this. Police did not misbehave with me. They only said what I did was wrong,” he added.
While campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections, Arvind Kejriwal was slapped by a man in Moti Nagar of West Delhi on May 4.
The man climbed on the open jeep in which Kejriwal was present and smashed a tight slap on his face while he was waving at the people.
AAP supporters immediately pulled him down and thrashed him.
This was not the first time that the Aam Aadmi Party convener was assaulted.
Kejriwal has been involved in similar sequences earlier in 2015.
