Team India wins the first test match against Australia in Adelaide. Virat Kohli led team had made history as it has become the first Indian team to win the first test match of series against Australia down under. Indian team scored 250 runs in the first innings thanks to Cheteshwar Pujara’s heroic 123 runs while other batsmen failed to score. It came on the bowlers to restrict the Australian batting attack which they did successfully. Indian bowlers got the team all out at a low score of 235. Team India had a lead of just 15 runs. In the second innings Indian openers put forward a 63 runs stand but a good start didn’t capitalise well as both the batsmen got out within next five overs. But again Pujara came to rescue first with a 71 runs stand with Virat Kohli and then 87 run stand with Ajinkya Rahane. Nathyan Lyon was leading the Australian bowling attack as he took 6 for 122 in 42 overs. Team India put forward a significant total of 323 runs to win for Australia. On the end of day 4 Australian scored 104 for 4 and the match looked in the favour of visitors. But it was the same story the tail-enders gave India a tough time and brought the team score to 291 for 9 when Ravichandran Ashwin got the wicket of Josh Hazelwood and got team India 1-0 lead in the 4 test match series.
