UK Court Orders Mallya To Be Extradited

2 min read

Big success for Modi Government as Westminster Court has ordered that the fugitive economic offender, Vijay Mallya is to be extradited to India. Vijay Mallya is a loan defaulter of 9000 crore rupees of Indian banks. Vijay Mallya is currently wanted in India but he still has an option to move to higher court in United Kingdom within the next 14 days to prevent his extradition. This decision is seen as a major achievement of the Modi Government as they had also extradited Christian Michel, middleman in Agusta Westland VVIP Chopper Scam, from UAE.

Whereas Vijay Mallya has repeatedly claimed that he will repay all his loans but he won’t come back to India. Vijay Mallya also said that his first priority will be the Kingfisher employees who are yet to get their salaries.
Last week he tweeted, “Wherever I am physically, my appeal is ‘please take the money’. I want to stop the narrative that I stole money.”
